A well-known postsecondary institution is expanding to multiple locations in the greater Los Angeles region, and is seeking Nursing Interim Program Chairs to manage the establishment of the Associate of Science in Nursing program at each new location. The right candidates will be energetic, detail-oriented, and skilled at resolving conflicts.
The Nursing Interim Program Chair will be responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of the California nursing board including rules and regulations, application requirements, meeting dates and timelines, agenda and procedural processes, policies involving the implementation of nursing programs, and site visit requirements. The Nursing Interim Program Chair will also interact with designated college directors for the development of clinical learning labs and teaching facilities, and will assist in negotiating for clinical experience sites for the program's students.
The work begins as a part-time consultant position, 30-40 hours per week, with the opportunity to become the permanent full-time Program Chair once the program is formally established. -
- Master of Science in Nursing mandatory; doctorate in nursing or closely related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years full-time teaching experience in an approved postsecondary nursing education program
- Supervisory experience required
- Working understanding of the California Board of Nursing approval process and national nursing accreditation processes strongly preferred
- Experience in nursing education administration strongly preferred
