Celebrating the Practice of Case Management

Case management is an essential process being used throughout the healthcare system to improve quality and reduce costs.

Professionals who work in case managers are primarily nurses and social workers, but depending on the setting, other professional disciplines are joining the practice. These include, physical, occupational, speech, respiratory therapist as well as psychologists and behavioral health specialists who assist patients and their caregivers in breaking down barriers as they navigate the complex healthcare landscape. Case managers do not work in silos, but are critical members of the healthcare team.

To celebrate the practice of case management, the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) introduced Case Management Day in 1995. Today, an entire week is dedicated to celebrating the practice of Case Management for the work case managers do and the value they bring to every sector of the broad healthcare system.

This year, Case Management Week will be celebrated October 7- 13, 2018. Here at Professional Services Network we salute the case managers who we work with every day. Thank you for the work you do and the value you bring to patients, caregivers and all members of the healthcare team. Have a great week!
