Happy Healthcare Quality Week
October 16, 2017
This week, October 15-21, celebrates Healthcare Quality Week 2017, a time focused on recognizing the hard work, dedication and achievements of healthcare quality professionals in varied settings across America. Healthcare Quality Week is celebrated yearly and recognizes professionals who work to promote and maintain quality healthcare for men, women and children in varied settings across the U.S.
Quality professionals typically possess a quality or process improvement background in a healthcare setting and work in various healthcare organizations that include hospitals, community agencies, home care, outpatient settings, or managed care organizations. Many of these men and women hold professional certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), which signifies professional and academic achievement by those in the field of healthcare quality management.
A quality professional addresses many issues in the healthcare workplace, such as Quality Management and Quality Improvement, Medication Reconciliation, Mortality and Incident Rate Reduction, Risk Management, Core Measures, and Patient Safety. Improvement of these quality efforts would have a significant impact on quality and cost in the delivery of healthcare services.
